Last WEHL games

Last weekend were the last WEHL games, once again in Stevens Point.  Tanner and I didn't go...he was getting a cold, so we decided to just hang out at home. They won their first game...beat Central.  Zach had an assist.  Then I didn't hear from them at all after the second game, so I assumed they lost again to Western.  When they got home, I asked Zach how bad they got beat, and he said "we won!"  They beat them 5-2.  They were ahead 3-2 and got 2 empty net goals.  Zach lifted up his shirt to show me where he got speared in the side, by #21.  Apparently Zach's team shut him down, he couldn't do anything with the puck, and was frustrated all game.  He butted 3 kids, and got a major misconduct.  Another player also got a major.

WEHL October 16, 2010

WEHL Tourney in Stevens Point this weekend.  They won their first game against North Central (Stevens Point) 3-2, nice assist by Zach.  He played a good game.  Second game they played Western, the team that is in first place in the standings to our second, they're one point ahead.  Lost 4-1.  If they would have won, we would have had to be back at 8 a.m.  Thank goodness, we don't have to be there until 10.

UPDATE: Took 2nd place, to Western.

Pink Panther

The boys love old Pink Panther movies.  They remind me of when I was young.  Randy would laugh so hard at the movie he would just about have an asthma attack.  It was hilarious.  Watching Zach laugh at these movies is very similar.  He reminds me so much of Randy as it is, and he has that same asthma-sounding laugh.  I didn't catch the funniest parts of the movie.  He of course wouldn't laugh after he realized I was videotaping.  I should have recorded him watching their favorite one...where Kato is driving the ice cream truck and keeps honking the horn "beep beep beep"  Both boys laugh hysterically at that one.

Baseball in Beloit

My dad loved the game of baseball, playing when he was younger, teaching me to play, watching...every night in the summer there was a game on tv or the radio. When I was in 5th grade or so, he began helping coach Little League. He coached LL, Pony and Babe Ruth, so as the boys moved up, he moved up with them. I loved going with him to watch the boys....er...I mean games, and keep the book for the team. Anyway, this field, at the Boys and Girls Club, is where Little League games were played. I felt I needed to have some pictures of the boys playing there. I wish every day that my dad would have been able to watch my boys play his favorite sport. I'm sure he is watching..I just wish I could have watched with him.

How fast they grow!

I was just looking at some pictures ...Zach and his friend Mike Larson. Zach walked by and saw them and laughed.  They both look so young!  They are starting 7th grade tomorrow. How time flies. Zach remembers what they were doing in the pictures....listening to AC/DC, Mike was playing guitar, Zach was singing.
